Back again for the 2013 GoPro Ironman World Championship with Texas Crew Productions. This year was slightly less crazy than last year, but like all great productions we worked until the very last minute to put out the best show. Heavier on the age group athlete stories this years show made you laugh, made you cry, and hopefully made you want to dig a little deeper today than you did yesterday in whatever you are doing. Let’s cross our fingers for another Emmy nomination.
Last October I was asked to be a part of the crew for NBC’s TV show documenting the 2012 Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. Produced by the Texas Crew for many many years now, the show has been consistently recognized for it’s excellence in photography, editing and storytelling, including many Emmys over the years. We spent a week in Kona where I was able to field produce special interest segments including the feature on 2-time Ironman World Champion Chris “Macca” McCormack. Then it was back to Austin to complete the 11 day turnaround for the 2-hour broadcast show. There I served as an assistant editor and graphic designer, helping to keep the show on track with the rest of the crew. I was able to do this quick edit used for some web promotion teases.
